About this site: a demonstration on sureERP
Demo Paints and Demo Hardware are not real companies. They are a worked example, kept in sureERP, of two businesses with genuinely different accounting to run.
Everything on the other pages describes a business that exists only to give the books something to be about. Behind them is a complete sureERP tenant with four and a half years of continuous trading for both companies - invoices, purchases, receipts, payments, stock and overheads - so reports and insights have real shape instead of sample rows.
Demo Paints Pvt Ltd
Charges GST at 18% on every sale and reclaims the tax it pays its suppliers as input credit.
Demo Hardware
Trades under the composition scheme: no GST charged on sales, and no input credit on purchases.
Two sets of books
Both companies live in the same tenant as separate scopes, with their own ledgers, stock and working periods.
Why the two are different on purpose
A composition dealer cannot reclaim the GST it pays to suppliers. That tax does not vanish: it lands in an expense ledger and eats into margin, which is why the hardware shop has to price at a wider gross margin than the paint business to reach a comparable net. Having both in one tenant shows the same ledgers, reports and insights serving two tax positions without a separate chart of accounts for each.
What the dataset contains
- Period
- Four and a half financial years, from 2022
- Sales
- Over a hundred invoices a month per company
- Purchases
- Bulk buying against retail selling, with stock carried
- Cash
- Receipts, supplier payments, and the overheads a shop actually pays
- Net margin
- Around 9% for paints, around 24% for hardware
What it demonstrates
- Company switching: two scopes in one tenant, with the books kept apart
- Working periods: a financial year that gates both defaults and permissible dates
- List filters that carry through to the insights page unchanged
- Trend charts and insights over a real volume of documents
- Inventory moving through purchase, stock and sale without manufacturing
- A public website served from the tenant's own web pages, which is this site
This site itself
These pages are ordinary web page records inside the demo tenant, marked public and served on the tenant's public host. They are not files deployed with the software: a tenant writes, publishes and withdraws its own pages, and a tenant that publishes nothing simply has no site. The workspace where the books are kept is a separate address and is not public.
The companies, addresses, telephone hours and trading figures on this site are fictional and exist to demonstrate sureERP.
